Bei Terminalserver 2016 (Remotedesktopsitzungshost) ist es Anwender/innen nicht möglich, die Standard-Apps / die Zuordnung von Dateitypen zu einer Anwendung zu ändern. Beispiel: Hyperlinks aus Mails, die ins Internet weisen, sollen nicht mehr mit Edge, sondern mit einem anderen Browser geöffnet werden, der installiert ist.
Auf einem Terminalserver wird mit dem Konto des Administrators alles eingestellt. Die Einstellungen werden auf eine Freigabe in eine Datei exportiert. Diese Datei wird dann über eine Gruppenrichtlinie den Anweder/innen zugeordnet.

In diesem Beispiel den gewünschten Webbrowser auswählen. Gegebenenfalls bei 'Standard-Apps nach Dateityp wählen', Standard-Apps nach Protokoll wählen', 'Standard-Apps nach App wählen' die Einstellunge prüfen / anpassen / speichern.
An dieser Stelle gelten die Einstellungen allein für das angemeldete administrative Benutzerkonto. Diese Einstellungen werden nun exportiert.
Die Einstellungen werden exportiert. In diesem Beispiel soll die Datei im Netzwerk auf einem Sever mit einer Freigabe gespeichert werden. Vorteil: Die Datei kann von allen Anwender/innen gelesen werden. Die Rechte müssen gegebenenfalls angepasst werden. Es muss lediglich eine Datei verwaltet werden.
Dism /Online /Export-DefaultAppAssociations:"\\servername\freigabename\standardapps.txt"
Kein(!) Leerzeichen nach dem Doppelpunkt eingeben. Der testweise Export in die Freigabe 'netlogon' funktionierte nicht immer. Hilfsweise kann die Datei zum Beispiel nach D:\ exportiert und manuell kopiert werden.
Ich weiche hier von der Quelle ab. Darin steht, dass eine XML-Datei exportiert werden soll. Formal ist die exportierte Datei eine XML-Datei. Im Hinweistext des Gruppenrichtlinieneditors ist beschrieben, das auf eine TXT-Datei verwiesen werden soll. In meinem Beispiel hat es mit dem Verweis auf die TXT-Datei funktioniert. Der Verweis auf die als xml benannte Datei (tandardapps.xml), war nicht erfolgreich, wenn ich in der Gruppenrichtlinie die XML-Datei als Ziel angegeben habe.

Auf jedem Terminalserver ein Update der Gruppenrichtlinie erzwingen. Als Administrator die Eingabeaufforderung öffnen und dieses Kommando eingeben.
gpupdate /force
Wird die Konfigurationsdatei nachträglich geändert, ist das nicht erforderlich. Bei einem Test zeigte sich, dass - wie zu erwarten - bei jedem Anmelden die Informationen eingelesen und angewendet wurden. Es genügt, die Datei anzupassen oder zu ersetzen.
